Time to finish this post.

Summer was soooo good that I'm having to make a new post for it. Not because Blogger won't let me write that much, but because my hands were cramping up and I wanted it online as soon as possible. So, back to where I left off.

Wedding party! Basically it was kinda crap, so I don't necessarily know why I'm talking about it here. The craic was ninety beforehand, chilling at Courtney's, but she and her parents will vouch for me when I say it was a bit bland. I guess it was nice to 'meet the family' so to say, but I sincerely hope the next one is better.

Now, what I've been waiting for. CASTLEWELLAN. My goodness was it fun. I don't think I've laughed as much in my life. Well, maybe I have, but it was some fun. The look on Courtney's face when she discovered that the cows had left their mark on the back of her leg was just priceless, and the argument that ensued between her, Dave and I was also quite funny. I told them that it wouldn't come off on the car, but would they believe me, no.

I've taken this opportunity to create a new paragraph for one thing in particular that I believe to be quite important. Upon our day trip to Castlewellan I wore the most ultimate shoes that anyone will ever see in their relatively short lives. Never has impulse buying played such an important part in my life. For £2.50 in a River Island sale, I purchased a pair of pale pink trainers that wouldn't have looked out of place 60 years ago in America. They're the sort of things make dreams come true, and lighten up a dreary afternoon.

Apologies about that, back to Castlewellan. Thanks to the preparation of me and Steve, we were able to produce a compilation of timeless hits to help us enjoy the lengthy journey to Castlewellan. 'Baby Got Back' and 'That's Amore' were instant hits, with 'Cheap Thrills' in particular causing quite the stir. Dave made the unfortunate mistake of leaving us in control of his car and stereo throughout the course of the afternoon, and I must congratulate the people of Castlewellan who were gracious enough to dance, or at least wave and smile when we boogied on down in that Honda Civic.

Sally, Courtney, Steve and I took the opportunity to go for a dander during the 3 hours free time we have, and I have to admit, despite the difficulty of the walk, that lake up the hill is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Undisturbed by we humans, the tranquil lake up at the top of the hill is the most amazing place just to stop and appreciate what God has done with this planet. And I apologise to Sally and Courtney who were slightly incapable of getting up the hill, Courtney moreso.

The actual purpose of our visit didn't disappoint either. Ross Harte did a fantastic job of leading worship, and I felt it was definitely a place and situation where people could connect with God. Sally and I most definitely were able to leave our physical bodies behind and just praise the Lord to the best of our abilities. Being able to leave your worries and iniquities at the foot of the cross was also a great idea, and enabled me to leave feeling a lot better about myself and my relationship with God.

And then an amazing thing happened. We went to McDonalds. What's so interesting about that you ask? Well, somebody 'stole' our car. How unfortunate. But Dave 'The Rave' Murphy came up with a genius idea. Having promised us that he would take us through the Drive-Thru, he kept his promise. We didn't necessarily do it by the conventional manner however. Carless, engineless, senseless, we made our way through the Drive-Thru. And the best bit was, they didn't seem too confused. The chips tasted oh so good, and the feeling inside was one of pure exhilaration.

Unfortunately that actually is it for today, but I shall be back soon to talk about the end of my summer, the summer after today. Mystery bus trip on Saturday, my first solo trip abroad on Monday, and my 18th birthday two weeks after that. And who of course can neglect the start of proper football after an agonising two month wait. Flippin raging about Sunday's Community Shield loss.

Anyway, enjoy yourselves, and God bless.

Gary
