Pre-Germany Update

Alright! As you may already know, I head to Germany in the morning to do some volunteer work with Open Doors UK, a Christian organisation providing relief for countries where Christianity is prosecuted. I really can't wait, despite me not exactly knowing how my time there will be spent. I don't know what I'll be doing for them, I don't know who I'm staying with, but I faith that God will look after me and make sure everything falls into place. And no matter what happens, it's going to be a learning experience. My German will undoubtedly improve, and hopefully God will test me sometime during my time away.

Over the past week or so I've felt God speak to me. He spoke to me through prayer, and through music. I've been encouraged to think about things, and tell people close to me exactly how I feel about them. And thankfully they were understanding enough to respect me and take me seriously. It really was a blessing getting to talk to my friends with such sincerity and honesty.

As is turns out, this is now a pre and during Germany update. I'm not quite there, but I'm sitting in the airport typing away. My body is aching all over, I'm tired as ever, and I'm also rather excited. In fact, I think we could just settle at tired and leave it there, I really wanted more sleep this morning, but airports always seem to want to deny you the basics of life, such as a decent nights sleep, and then the provisions for any extra sleep upon your arrival on the plane. However, I am for once well prepared, I have my iPod, fully stocked with the latest offerings of Hillsong and the like, and my Bible, my trusty travel companion.

I did say that I'd talk about the mystery bus trip, and about the rest of my summer, but despite me typing here at the minute, I think that's a luxury best left until I return from Germany. Until then, have a great time without me, and eagerly anticipate (I hope) the next blog post from yours truly, Gary Uprichard. God bless.
